I Forgot What I Was Going to Say, 1992
Sculpture , 78 x 55 x 5 cm
Wood, metal, bone, paper, wire

A revolver, separated from its trigger by a piece of wood, has been rendered useless. As if in a surreal dream, the object is deprived from its basic function and gains subjectivity. It is paralyzed, lost for words, as the piece of paper gives in: “I forgot what I was going to say”.

This artwork was part of Jimmie Durham’s installation at the Whitney Biennial in 1993.
